What is monobank? ＋
monobank is a Ukrainian mobile bank launched in 2017. Formally it is a retail product of JSC "Universal Bank" (NBU licence No. 92), created in partnership with the mono IT team, not a separate bank. It describes itself as Ukraine's first banking service without branches: the account is managed in the app. Among other things it offers a card with cashback in selected categories, and the card design in Apple Pay and Google Pay can be personalised, for example with a cat avatar.
How do I open a monobank account? ＋
You open a monobank account in the app, which you download from the App Store or Google Play. To register you need a phone and an ID document: you take a photo of yourself, your passport and your taxpayer identification number, or upload your documents from the Diia app. Once verified you can use a virtual card straight away, and you can order a physical card for delivery.
Is monobank available in Poland? ＋
monobank operates in Ukraine as a product of the Ukrainian JSC "Universal Bank" and has no branches in Poland. From the app you can send transfers to Visa and Mastercard cards issued by foreign banks, including in Poland, and dollar or euro currency cards can receive SWIFT and SEPA transfers from abroad.
What features does the monobank app offer? ＋
In the monobank app you can open a hryvnia card and dollar and euro currency cards, as well as a card with a credit limit, instalments and pay-in-parts purchases. The bank offers cashback in selected categories, commission-free payment of utility bills and fines, cards you can add to Apple Pay and Google Pay, deposits and transfers, including to cards issued by foreign banks.
